Test Each trait (e.g., birth weight, weaning weight, yearling weight, etc.) will be described on its own wiki page. Authors who are tasked with writing a trait page may find it useful to use a small template that we have developed. The template provides a standard set of subsections and instructions.

Loading the template

Authors should be provided with a URL for the redlink (link to a yet to be created page) to the trait's new page.

  1. Click on the redlink. It will take you to a blank edit screen.
  2. In the URL link at the top of the browser you will need to add the following to the end of the URL and press enter,
&preload=Template:Trait

The edit page should reload with the Template. It contains comments and section headings. For an example of a completed trait page see Weaning Weight.
